Before I realize it, Okinawa International Movie Festival finds itself in its third year. From its inception, Okinawa International Movie Festival has had a special relationship with Pusan International Film Festival of which I currently serve as Chairman. I am very pleased to watch our counterpart in Okinawa show a steady growth.

This year in particular is even more special, as I have the opportunity to visit Okinawa as the Festival Jury President. I am looking forward with great anticipation to enjoying a high level of work and meeting enthusiastic audiences.

With its unique theme of “Laugh & Peace”, I deeply hope for the continued development of this now firmly entrenched Okinawa International Movie Festival which has brought so much joy, and I hope that I can assist in some way in its continued success.
