We would like to express our deepest respect and gratitude to all involved with OIMF in their resolve to hold the “Third Okinawa International Movie Festival” to support disaster relief efforts of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
This is Commissioner Hiroshi Mizohata from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, Japan Tourism Agency.I would like to express my deepest respect and deepest gratitude to all involved with OIMF in their resolve to hold the “Third Okinawa International Movie Festival” to support disaster relief efforts of the Tohoku earthquake and tsunami.
At this moment, due to the mega earthquake, our country is facing an unprecedented crisis. It is imperative that all of Japan unite in cooperative efforts to overcome this critical period. Needless to say, direct relief efforts such as repair operations, medical and human aid alike are crucial, but all supporting shouts of the “Nippon Spirit” from the farther areas are just as important. Assertively sending out this message will help condense all of our prayers and hopes towards the disaster area, greatly aiding restorative operations.
The main concept for the Okinawa International Movie Festival is “Yell, Laugh & Peace”, which embodies what Japan needs right now; kind smiles and compassion. I send my sincerest wishes for the success of the festival, both as the relief support from Okinawa and as one of the forerunning ventures to send out the “Nippon Spirit”!!
