With their nearly 100 year history, anyone around the world would acknowledge that Yoshimoto Kogyo have been producing “Laugh & Peace” for many years. They have not only provided a complete and creative entertainment business in Asia, but have also succeeded in crossing the language barrier. Through the “Okinawa International Movie Festival”, there is plenty of “Laughter” in movies that will make people laugh and help remove some of the stresses of modern society. There is no doubt that spreading “Comedy” around the world promotes the harmonious and positive development of human society.

Since its inception in 2009, the “Okinawa International Movie Festival” has attracted countless participants and visitors to this grand event, and to the wonderful tourist destination of Okinawa. This year’s third “Okinawa International Movie Festival” continues the theme of “Laugh & Peace”, bringing together works with even more energy and humanity to this hot venue of Okinawa, to be presented to audiences that will visit from all over the world. I firmly believe that this year’s festival will be more grand and even more fulfilling than ever before.

On behalf of all employees of “Salon”, we wish this 3rd Okinawa International Movie Festival brilliant success. We also hope that the efforts of everybody in the Film Festival Executive Committee will bear fruits as the theme of “Laugh & Peace” continues to cross borders, and to flow across Asia and the world to promote greater cultural exchange.
