It is my heartfelt delight to welcome the opening of the 3rd Okinawa International Movie Festival. Along with the astounding visitor count totaling at 380,000, the laughter and excitement brought on by the festival is still fresh in our memories.

The film “A Song of Gondla”, which was set and also filmed in our town, has been entered in the “Peace” Category this year. I am grateful how this film project has enabled us to show the beauty of our town nationwide. We are all looking forward to support and cheer on the success of the festival anew this year and hope to greet many more visitors again.

In closing, my sincerest wishes for success of the 3rd OIMF and we hope all visitors will thoroughly enjoy the festival.
