The characters are a taxi driver and a pop star, a businessman and an actor, a snowboarder and a skier, a student and a pensioner, a fi reman and a head mistress, a thief and a policeman, a guest worker and the President of Russia. On New Year' s Eve all these people fi nd themselves in a very uneasy situation, and only a miracle can help them get out of it... Or the 'small world' theory according to which each person on the Earth is just six handshakes away from another person! The 9 stories of the film, connected among themselves, were shot simultaneously by several directors.
